To the Believer in all of us,
Many people believe that greatness is only attributed to a select few. That somehow greatness is only for the “chosen ones”; however, we are all made in the image of greatness. Though we all come from various backgrounds with different experiences, we were all created in the likeness of greatness. This greatness can’t be measured but how we live determines what level of greatness will be seen. Some choose to ignore greatness and others maximize only their abilities to manufacture a form of greatness, but few people grab a hold of true greatness. True greatness is not an attribute. It is a person, and the person is Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus, who is God Himself, came down from heaven to display His perfection, His greatness and to make a way for us to apprehend all that He is so that we too can be great. His greatness is PROVEN. He is the same greatness that lives in you by faith and once you grab a hold of Him the only thing left to do is to live a life PROVEN.
The majority of people have pursued greatness outside of God. If we are to be honest, all of us have a sense that our lives have significance and that our existence has purpose. We try to PROVE this very thing to ourselves and others within our own abilities, intellect, and ambitions, but by doing so we have placed a weight on our shoulders too heavy to bear. This pursuit has led many down paths of self destruction. The truth is that you weren’t meant to PROVE your greatness on your own, in fact, you were made to express greatness through the PROVEN One. You were meant to live a life PROVEN.
A life PROVEN is rooted in a revelation of who Jesus is and how it pertains to our life today. First, we must not forget that Jesus, the Son of the living God, lived on earth, died for our sins, and resurrected back to life again to PROVE us back to God. We were separated from God because of sin but now we are reconnected back to God through faith in Jesus. Therefore, we don’t just have aimless faith but our faith is in Jesus Christ, the One who made a way for us to have life. You may be thinking, “Well, I have life now. I’m breathing, walking, working, creating relationships, traveling, etc., trying to live my best life.” This is good and evidence of your existence, however; the bible says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). In essence, there is no life apart from Him. We exist to have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). We exist to have Jesus and Jesus more abundantly. This is very powerful once this revelation becomes rooted in you because you will discover that it’s not about your perfection but it’s about His perfection which is placed upon you through faith. That as long as you believe in the One who is PROVEN, you’re PROVEN too. Jesus came to give Himself to us which means He came to give us His life. Once we truly receive Him, the cares of this world that causes the levels of anxiety, depression, hopelessness, envy and stress begin to loosen from our being because of the life that is now on the inside of us.
In my most challenging seasons, through the tears, disappointments, and heartbreaks; my inadequacies, limitations, and imperfections began to amplify in my mind and I began to think that I wasn’t good enough. The pressure that we allow society to place on us along with the pressure we place on ourselves can cause anyone to self destruct. I was a victim myself, but something supernatural happen to me. The Word of God was revealed to me and it changed everything. I thank God that His thoughts about me were present and His Word silenced the lies that I once believed. I don’t have to PROVE that I’m enough or that I’m great, or that my life has significance because it’s not my accomplishments that PROVE me. I’m PROVEN already because of Jesus and His accomplishments. He came and died for everything that was imperfect (sin) so that I can join His perfection through faith. My greatness is knitted in His greatness. My story is a continuation of His story. I’m PROVEN because He’s PROVEN and He lives in me through faith. Greatness is my portion because He is greatness. Jesus said to us, “abide in me and I will abide in you, for without Me you can do nothing (John 15)”. I believe “living in Christ” is the location where God has designed all of us to grow and to manifest greatness. Only from this place does God receive His glory. Only from this place does God work in us and through us to accomplish His will (Philippians 2:13).
Even if the trials of this world knock you down and makes you stumble, the PROOF of Christ in you is that your heart and faith remain in Him. Trials are meant to test our faith so that Christ can be revealed in and through us. I believe God gives us moments to PROVE what is on the inside of us. These tests are given to reveal those secret parts of us that exposes our preparation or the lack thereof. Whatever is revealed during these tests shows us the areas of our lives we have yet to surrender to Jesus, the PROVEN One. As our faith is tested, our faith is being perfected simply for the life of Christ to find expression in our world. Dependency on Jesus is not weakness but our greatest strength because His track record is PROVEN across all of history. The PROVEN One is waiting to be revealed in you. Therefore, a life PROVEN is a life in Jesus Christ through faith. So, I encourage you all to live in His PROVEN and embrace the peace, freedom, love, joy, power and victory that only He can give. Never stop trusting Jesus.
